Disneyland - Part 1

Ok - this post really doesn't have any Disneyland pictures yet. The first few days were spent traveling, going to the beach, and celebrating a special little girl's birthday!

We left on the morning of a big snow storm. It felt nice knowing we were going somewhere warm. It wasn't so nice driving or flying during a snow storm. Logan was so excited to ride in an airplane. Here he is at the airport waiting to board.

Apparently parents of small children get to board first. Nice considering we had way too much stuff and it took a while to get situated. We checked a large suitcase (which was 6 lbs over the weight limit so things had to be shifted), double stroller, 2 car seats, and brought 2 carry-ons, a diaper bag, jackets, and of course 2 kids on the plane. And we were trying to pack light!

Logan got to sit next to Grandma Bradshaw, which worked out so well! We ended up being delayed 2 hours (on the runway) because of a maintenance issue and de-icing. Logan did amazing. Norah did as well as could be expected for a 1-year-old. She fell asleep once we took off and had fun tearing up the Skymall magazine (sorry Delta).

The next day, being Sunday, started with church and was followed by a visit to Huntington Beach. It was so amazing and beautiful but COLD. I forgot how much I love the ocean.

Here's Logan with Benj and cousin Chase taking his first (and only) dip in the water.

Norah loved the sand and would laugh when her feet got wet.

Logan found (stole) a volleyball and literally had a ball running up and down the beach with that thing.

Ocean sunsets are hard to beat!
A memorable moment on the way home: Norah was NOT happy in her carseat and cried the whole way back to our hotel. Logan, not wanting to be outdone, started singing "Life is a highway, I want to ride it all night loooonng!" over and over (He got the song from the Cars movie). It made us laugh and made the car ride a little more bearable.

Monday we just had to go back to the beach. But not before stopping at the famous Joe's Crab Shack.

Chase and Grandma B.

Norah deciding what to order.

Our view from the restaurant window. Awesome huh?

I think this picture should be on their website! Benj and I shared this giant pot full of lobster, shrimp, crab legs and veggies. I definately need to work on my crackin' skills, but all of it was delicious!

Logan wanted to wear a bib too,

but it quickly changed to a cape.

Love Norah's round belly in this picture.

After lunch we made our way to the pier and took in more amazing views . . .

and another amazing sunset. If I didn't love the Utah mountains so much, I'd want to live right here.

Next up: Norah's birthday!
