Pot of Gold

While Benj was in Mexico on business, Logan and I set off on a mini trip to Idaho Falls. It was a much needed break and was a lot of fun.

I gave Logan a few driving lessons (he's a natural).

We went to Rexburg where Logan got to meet Captain, my brother's turtle. Logan got a lovely bite of approval, with surprisingly no tears.

My brother Sam and his cute wife Jenni played hosts and made us a delicious italian dinner. I just love hanging out with my family. By the way, I had almost forgotten about the wind in Rexburg. It was sooo cold up there!

Since we spent St. Patrick's Day up in Idaho, we made festive rainbow cupcakes.

Logan also "made" a rainbow out of colored marshmellows. I think I found this kid's new favorite treat. He probably ate about 50 marshmellows while I decorated his rainbow.

Its good to be back home. We sent off Daddy once more to Toronto on another business trip this week. Visitors are more than welcome!

St. Patty's Day Parade

Saturday was Salt Lake's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, held at the Gateway. This was our first year attending and we didn't even know it existed until this year. It was a lot of fun, and I'll list some of the pros and cons if you guys are interested.
Logan was already for the parade with his festive shirt. We were very underdressed for the occasion. We saw green wigs, leprechan ears and beards, boas, etc. A lot of people get very very into it.

PROS ABOUT THE PARADE
Multiple bag-pipe bands (we love these)
Lots of animals, particularly dogs and horses
Great seats since its located on the narrow street that goes through the Gateway
Lots of history and pride for Irish roots
Fun people acting goofy
First parade of the year = spring is around the corner!
CONS
A little cold (it is March in Utah after all)
Irish are proud of their beer
It was too long (over 100 entries. We got up and walked around after entry 60)
The verdict: We might not go every year, but its definately fun and refreshing!

Late Afternoon

There's a little period of time when Logan wakes up from his nap and when Benj comes home from work. We try to go outside and enjoy the sun in the late afternoon before I have to get started on dinner.

Yesterday we kicked the ball around (and stomped in some puddles) . . .

and played with some bubbles.

Logan is still trying to master the art of bubble blowing. He at least is getting the concept of blowing, although the wand sometimes ends up touching his mouth.

We also took a lovely walk and saw the first signs of spring! This made me so happy that I would point out all the buds to Logan. We also listened to the birds singing.

Can you tell I'm ansy for some warm weather?

My Helper

Logan and I made fresh orange-pineapple juice this morning.

Logan helped by collecting the oranges in the bowl, emptying the bowl, and being my taste-tester.

It was a delicious way to start the day.

Rainy Afternoon

Rainy day =Play-doh day!
This was a first for Logan. Besides trying to eat it the first time he got it in his hands, he loved it. He liked to poke his fingers in it and press on the cookie cutters.

Hopefully we don't have too many more cold days. Come on spring!

Poof

This is what Logan looked like after his nap yesterday . . .

Do you think its time for a haircut???
