July 24th

Pioneer Day is always a fun weekend for our family. Of course remembering our own heritage and teaching our kids about the pioneers is at the top of the list. We also enjoy celebrating with a little parade-watching, scone-eating and firework-displaying!

Our group at the parade.

Waiting for the parade to start.

The kids loved the bands. Logan obsessed over getting candy, Norah loved the princesses, and I ran out in the street with Max and scored a Lion House roll. Benj also picked up some yummy chocolates from Mrs. Cavanaughs!
We went to Bountiful Park for the festival and enjoyed the music, food and rides.
 And sword fighting.

We also enjoyed a little BBQ in our own backyard. The kids love eating outside. It was the perfect evening!

Max at 10 Months

 Look who's 10 months!

I remember at one point describing Max as a laid-back baby. I now take that back. This boy is busy!

He is a fast crawler and gets up and down stairs with ease. He pulls himself up to standing and cruises around the furniture.

He has been found emptying garbage cans, drawers, and cupboards. He loves pulling folded laundry out of baskets.

He LOVES peek-a-boo, 3 Little Ducks, and Patty-cake. He would do anything to be outside. Because of his age, he puts everything in his mouth. The latest has been dirt clods in the grass.

He got to experience his first taste of ice cream (he would make a face and then discover how delicious it was). He also loves swimming and taking baths.

Max melts me with those sweet eyes and smile. He gives great kisses and loves to give snuggles (for about 3 seconds and then wriggles out of your arms to go explore some more). He loves his brother and sister and watches their every move.
Max, you are a such a joy! Happy 10 months baby!

4th of July

We are usually up in Idaho Falls for the 4th, but this year we got to stay home and see what our hometown had to offer. It was a really good day! We dressed up in our red, white and blue and headed to the Kaysville parade.

I took our blankets and chairs a day before and found a pretty good spot. It was fun but really HOT. Luckily we had our shades to keep us "cool".

We loved seeing all the flags displayed, including our own in front of our house.

Norah managed to get a pretty good seat.
Early in the parade everyone migrated out on the street. I wish everyone stayed on their blankets and chairs so people could see. Luckily Daddy helped Logan and Norah get glimpses of fun floats.

We were invited to Great-Grandpa and Grandma Bradshaw's house for a little swimming and dinner. I got some phone pics from our little visit. It was a lot of fun!

The kids wore themselves out from swimming, so Benj and I went right outside our house to see if we could see any fireworks. We were able to see both the Lagoon and Davis High fireworks from our street, so we ended up having a pretty good show!

Happy 4th of July!

Mountain Air

Here in Utah we are so lucky to be a few minutes away from gorgeous mountains and fresh air. I love that even in the heat of summer, retreating up the canyon supplies luxurious shade and cooler temps. We went a couple days after the fourth and enjoyed a little picnic with the Krogue cousins.

This cute girl didn't mind getting dirty.

A little exploring across the bridge.

Cookies with Daddy.
I promise I have other children! Logan was off with his cousin most of the time and Max was asleep in his car seat for a while.

 Playing in meadow.
