Easter Fun

Logan had a really good time at the Easter Egg Hunt held at the Bountiful Tabernacle. We "practiced" putting eggs in his basket so he would get the concept.

We didn't really prepare him for the Easter Bunny. He wasn't too sure about it.

It must be confusing for little kids to be told "Don't touch the eggs" and then all of a sudden we tell them to get as many as they can.

Logan scored a basketful in the corner of the grass. Mommy and Daddy were excited that it was good candy inside (snickers, butterfinger, etc).

After the egg hunt, we went to breakfast and enjoyed our nephew's soccer game (sorry no pictures). I must've had pregnancy brain because I completely forgot about dyeing eggs. Had the kit and everything. Haha. Oh well.

On Sunday we enjoyed being spiritually fed and reminded why we celebrate Easter. We joined family for brunch afterwards.

Don't my boys look dashing in their vests?

HAPPY EASTER!

My 2 Year Old

The picture above was at Logan's party. I was trying to get a good, smiling photo of him. He was so so so busy running around that I couldn't even get him to look at the camera. I do like this picture because it'll always remind me what Logan was like at age 2. One word: ACTIVE.

Age 2 - I can hardly believe it. My Baby Center emails now say "Your preschooler is . . . ". Just when I was getting used to the word toddler. These kids grow up way too fast, I tell ya.

Logan is a wonderful boy. Some things I love about Logan:

He gives us delicious slobbery kisses every day.

He folds his arms for prayer.

He likes to share (usually his food).

He reminds me his toys need putting away, even when we're about to leave the house.

He always wants to help. He's especially good at putting dishes away.

He runs and jumps into our arms like he hasn't seen us in weeks.

He's goofy and laughs at himself.

He is really smart and seems to learn something new every day.

He always wants to be outside and reminds me to enjoy it too.

He has the cutest curls ever.

He will always curl up on my lap and read a book.

Life isn't always butterflies and rainbows, but I'm thankful to be a mother. I am learning everyday too. I'm so thankful this kiddo is mine, and I want to remember this stage forever.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN! Promise Mommy you won't grow up too fast.

Let's Party

How lucky to have TWO birthdays to celebrate! Double the fun right? I don't know how much these guys really enjoy sharing birthdays a day apart, but it makes for one great party.

Two handsome birthday boys

Our delicious spread of food.

Birthday wishes or favorite memories were written on the cards below.
We can't have a party without our wonderful families.
Blowing out the candles (Logan mostly observed).
Logan definately enjoyed his present from Mommy and Daddy: a new tricycle!
Both boys got spoiled with gifts.
I'd like to say this was an easy, stressfree day, but I felt like I was running around like a crazy person. Thank goodness for Benj who went and got his own cake and for my family who helped me set up at the park. Logan was showing his true "terrible 2" side and constantly wanted to play on the playground instead of be around our guests. Take him away from what he wanted and he'd collapse on the ground like the world was over. I'm praying that this is not an indicator of what lies ahead this year.

It really was a fun day and a special thanks to our families for their support. We love you guys!

Making It Official

Logan has an annoucement to make . . .

DO YOU THINK HE'S EXCITED!?!

We had our first doctors appointment a week ago. Our sweet little babe is 9 weeks now and due on November 15th. We couldn't be more thrilled.

Here's a couple first pictures of our little peanut.

Aquarium

Since Utah weather has felt more like winter than spring the last couple of days (boo), Logan and I decided to visit the Living Planet Aquarium. It was actually very cool! Logan loved it too, but you wouldn't know by the pictures. He was totally captivated by everything, and had a very serious, observant look on his face the whole time.

We saw frogs (real and fake),

lots of fish, fresh and salt water.

We got to pet stingrays (well, Mommy touched them while Logan watched), saw sea turtles, sharks, eels, snakes, and even an octopus! We saw multiple penguins dive around in the water. They were so fast that I didn't get a good picture, so here's Logan seeing how he measures up next to an Emperor penguin.
Overall it was a great experience and we'll definately go again. I love that Logan is free until he's 3 years old! All my friends with toddlers should come with us!
Yay for fun things to do on cold days!
