First Month of Summer

We have had such a fun month! Between park visits, camp fires, roller coasters, and reunions, I'd say we are enjoying all that summer has to offer. Here are a few photos documenting June:

Layton Duck Park

Smores in Mueller Park Canyon

Roasting marshmallows can still be enjoyed with a sprained ankle.

Usana Lagoon Day

Beach House Reunion - it was so much fun seeing these girls, married with multiple kids. A lot has changed in a few years!

Just Keep Swimming

To kick off summer, Logan completed a 2-week swimming lesson at Farmington Pool. This was his first swimming lesson without mom in the water with him, and he did great! He loved his teachers and was always willing to participate.

Practicing his kicks

This girl was a handful everyday. All she wanted to do was walk around everywhere, including trying to go up the slide steps.

Logan made some fun friends and got a lot more comfortable in the water. He kicks his legs really well and knows a lot of the arm strokes (known as scooping ice cream, rocket arms, etc). He still needs to get comfortable on his back, so we'll work on that this summer.

Great job Logan!

Bucket o' Fun

Who knew a bucket could be so entertaining?
(Those blue eyes kill me)

 with cousins

He went right along playing with his battleship, despite being folded in half.

I think I know what to get the kids for Christmas!

Happy Fathers Day

These kids are so blessed to have this man as their dad. Benj is a great dad because:

-he is a wonderful example
-he is hands on
-he is patient and loving
-he is playful and fun
-he puts his family first
-he smothers them with hugs and kisses
-he is a protector

Whenever Norah sees a picture with multiple people in it, she always points out her daddy first. Both kids run into his arms when he gets home from work, followed by Logan saying, "I'm so happy to see ya." The kids adore you Benj, as do I.

Happy Father's Day!

This year we had a Father's Day picnic at the park with Benj's grandparents, followed by a fun day up at the Krogues' cabin in Heber.

Softball Injury

One thing Benj enjoys every summer is playing softball on a city league. This year he was filling in for someone (since I usually have mutual on game nights, he didn't sign up). He was really excited to play and had a great game - up until the last inning.

He stepped on 3rd base wrong, heard a popping noise and rolled to the ground. It started swelling immediately and we took him to Instacare. The result was a severe sprained ankle.

A couple days later

He walked around on crutches for the first couple days (not easy in a multi-level house) and has started putting more weight on it. We'll see if he's out the rest of the season. :)
