Ogden Dinosaur Park

I made a goal to myself to take the kids to new, fun places this summer. Ogden Dinosaur Park definitely fit the bill. Although a little bit of a drive, it was worth it seeing the looks on the kids faces. Logan LOVED it and kept asking me a bunch of questions about the dinosaurs. He especially liked learning about if the dinosaurs were herbivores or carnivores.

There was an indoor exhibit (that was pretty small but still cool).

But the real fun was when we went outside and saw over 50 life-size dinosaurs!

Its so hard to get these kids to look and smile at the camera.

This picture cracks me up. He actually isn't crying - this is his "cheese" face. He was actually really excited about the T-Rex.

Here's another one to prove that I'm not torturing my children.

They had a great picnic and playground area where we ate our lunch. It was a very hot day so we didn't stay too long after, but here's a shot of Logan going down the pterodactyl (yes I had to look up the spelling) slide.

Overall a big hit and a place we'll definitely visit again!

Park Review - Castle Heights Playground

We've been to several parks but I always forget to bring my camera. Last week we were in the Farmington area so I decided to take Logan to the "Castle Park". He was so excited when he saw it. What kid wouldn't? Its a kid's playground paradise!

The picture below right is the toddler area (recommended for ages 2-5). The main toy is mainly for ages 5 and up. Logan did well on most things. Its nice and enclosed so that made me feel like he was more safe.
Most of my pictures are the back side of Logan. He was running everywhere!

Overall: Loved this park.

Time to go: Definately go in the early morning or early evening. It was HOT by 10. Shady trees on the side of the playground and several tables for eating. Lots of grass to run around on.

Age: This park is definately for older kids, but because it wasn't busy, Logan did well on it.
Extras: Tennis shoes work best in most playgrounds. I saw several kids with sandals/flip flops constantly taking them off because there was something in their shoe. :)

Park Review - Layton Commons

Ever hear about all these amazing parks and playgrounds around Utah? I decided Logan and I will start travelling around Davis and Salt Lake Counties to experience some of the beautiful, fun parks in our area. Last Friday we went up to Layton Commons Park. This park is known for their duck pond, which we eventually found thanks to another mother.

Things I loved about this park:

-beautiful walkways. All shaded and peaceful

-a solid fence to keep kids away from the water (you never can be too careful)
-A fun duck pond with a variety of wildlife. Loved the ducks and geese but hated those darn seagulls. Logan was content in his stroller and didn't really want to toss the bread. Too young?

-A HUGE playground full of toys for all ages.

I also loved the big trees which provided us extra shade.

Logan loved the toys and watching the older kids on the merry-go-round. I wouldn't let him go on it since it was going at high speeds. Those things make me nervous! Will we go back?

YES!
Next time we'll bring a lunch and have a picnic. They also have a fun looking outdoor pool.
