Pioneer Day

Because Pioneer Day fell on a Sunday this year, I feel like we got to celebrate the whole week. Our first stop was to This is the Place Heritage Park. Logan loved it because of all of the animals and the train ride. We were actually on the train when it started downpouring. Crazy Utah weather.

Logan kept saying "horsey" over and over.

He got to pet lambs, goats, pigs, bunnies and even a donkey. Always a good time with the cousins. Cute pioneer girls doing a ribbon dance. The next day we went to the Days of 47 Rodeo. It was so much fun and we got really into it! We had lots of fun at the Bountiful parade (Logan was so into it he wouldn't look at me). This isn't a great shot, but thought the boys looked cute in their matching shirts. Later we went to watch the fireworks at Mueller Park Jr High. The fireworks were literally right above us. Logan covered his eyes with his hands or the blanket. They were a little bright. Sometimes I could just eat him. The NEXT day we spent the day hanging out at the festival at the park. There's nothing like corn on the cob and tiger paws.

Logan had fun playing with Grandma. This is what most of my shots look like. He'd rather hold the camera.
It was a great time, as always!

5 Months!

I can't believe I'm 24 weeks along. Is it really 3 more weeks until my last semester? Crazy, I tell ya.

This last month I have really felt pregnant. I suddenly grew out of all of my regular-sized pants and shorts, I feel like I can't carry Logan longer than a minute, my belly button popped out like a turkey timer, and those frequent bathroom breaks are becoming more and more frequent.

I am however, so grateful for this pregnancy. I've been very healthy and feeling good over all. Can't complain about that one bit.

I have started getting the nesting itch and want to create baby girl's nursery soon (as in sew a lot - bedding, curtains, boppy cover, etc). Before we do the nursery we need to MOVE!

I have liked our little apartment, but its just that - little. We need at least a 3 bedroom so Logan can have his own room and baby girl can have hers too. Our babies are in their own rooms from Day 1. I'm too light a sleeper and want Benj to sleep too. Plus encourages good sleep habits!

So, if any of you hear of a great deal on a 3 bedroom in our area, let me know. Yes, seriously!

PS - Hope everyone enjoyed Pioneer Day. A post on our festivities will be up soon.

Camp

We went camping last weekend to Wasatch State Park near Midway, Utah. It was so beautiful up there. I hardly got any pictures, but it was a lot of fun. I've never seen Logan so dirty. We enjoyed early morning walks (some of them around 6 am because our kiddo woke up with the sun). There was dutch oven cooking, game playing, thunderstorms, and not much sleep. Isn't that what camping is all about?

PS - I think this kid lived on junk food the entire time!

I Love America

We have gone to Idaho Falls every year for the 4th since we've been married, and this year was no exception.

We did a lot of fun things over the weekend.

We went to the Tauphaus Park Zoo. We picnicked (while little one slept).

We played with bubbles in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard. I decided he needed shorts and shoes on halfway through the pictures. haha Admired my family's beautiful garden. Played a little competitive croquet (my little brother beat me at the end).

Attended the parade.

This was our stake's float. My mom and brother helped make it!

And of course, attended the famous firework show along the Snake River. Logan liked them, but also seemed to get a little bored. While I was holding him, he'd turn his head around and give me a kiss every 2 minutes. He melts his momma's heart.

How blessed we are to live in this great nation.

Happy Birthday America!

My Little Minnow

Yesterday Logan finished his second year of swimming lessons! He is now a new member of the swim team (ok, he isn't really ready for that - someday). He actually finished his Minnow 2 class with mommy. Next year he'll be able to do lessons without mom. Gah, that makes me nervous.

Waiting for lessons to start . . .

He has been doing pretty well this year. He has no problem jumping off the edge of the pool into the water. He has learned how to do tiger arms, shark arms, and tree arms (ask him to demonstrate next time you see him).

He's not a fun of being on his back, but getting better. He also needs to work on his bubbles.

Overall he did great. He got a pink certificate and a Fun Dip for finishing his class. We hope to practice lots more this summer! See you at the pool!
